A full application for funding under the Government scheme is not to be underestimated, requiring detailed input from Managing Agents, Lawyers, Project Managers and others, all to be uploaded to a portal. There is also an obligation to keep leaseholders updated at all times as the application is effectively on their behalf—this includes collecting and uploading a signed ‘state-aid declaration’ from leaseholders. For a private freeholder or leaseholder management company this can be quite daunting and time consuming despite the assistance of Government representatives. Having the support of SAY, with an understanding of the process as well as a expert knowledge of the construction industry was invaluable.
